Use PAYE anytime to apply for a college grant P21 balancing statement
The quickest way to get a PAYE Balancing Statement (P21) is online through Revenue's PAYE anytime service on www.revenue.ie. Applicants for a college grant may need to send a 2011 P21 as proof of earnings to the relevant grant awarding authority. A P21 is a statement of total income, tax credit and tax paid for a particular tax year. It is essential that applications to Revenue for a P21 are made in good time. PAYE anytime is quick, secure and easy to use.
If using PAYE anytime for the first time applicants should register for a PIN without delay. Once registered, Revenue will issue a PIN within 5 working days. When a PIN is available, customers can apply for a P21 through PAYE anytime and can opt to receive the P21 online within 3 to 4 days or by post within 4 to 5 working days.
A P21 can also be requested from Revenue in writing, by phone or by calling into a local office and will be issued as soon as possible. However, it is not as quick as PAYE anytime and there may be some delay during peak periods. PAYE anytime has made the business of requesting forms and claiming reliefs much quicker and easier for PAYE taxpayers.
The PAYE anytime service allows taxpayers to manage their own tax affairs in a quick, free and secure manner, and is available 365 days a year. In general once registered with PAYE anytime you can:
- View your tax record
- Claim a wide range of tax credits
- Apply for refunds of tax including health expenses
- Declare additional income
- Request a Review/Balancing Statement (P21) for the past 4 years
- Re-allocate credits between yourself and your spouse
- Track your correspondence submitted to Revenue
PAYE anytime provides for the immediate update of your tax credits, speedy repayments and secure 24-7 access.
