Customs seize drugs in Dublin

In a joint, intelligence-led investigation by Officers from Revenue's Customs Service based at Dublin Port and the Garda National Drugs Unit, with assistance from Tallaght and Store Street Garda Stations, approximately 75kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €900,000 was seized at a dwelling house in Rathcoole today (15/03/12).

Two men aged 49 and 34 were arrested and taken to Clondalkin Garda Station where they are currently being detained.

In a follow-up search of premises, approximately 10,000 tablets suspected of being a controlled drug were also seized and will be subject to forensic analysis.

The estimated total value of the seizure is approximately €950,000.
