Cigarettes seized in Cork
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, based in Cork city, today (25/02/2012), seized 54,000 cigarettes in Fermoy, Co. Cork. The officers were assisted in the operation by Gardaí from Fermoy Garda Station.
The 'Bon International' brand have a retail value of €23,000 and represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of €18,300.
An Irish male in his sixties was questioned and the vehicle in which the cigarettes were being transported was seized.
