Revenue seizes 80,000 cigarettes in Carlow

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service seized 80,000 cigarettes and 13kgs of tobacco from two premises in Carlow on Saturday (26/05/12) with an estimated total retail value of €37,220 and potential loss to the Exchequer of €30,720.

This seizure was the result of an intelligence-led operation. The investigation is ongoing with a view to prosecution.
