Revenue seizes cigarettes in Carlow

As a result of an intelligence-led operation, officers from Revenue’s Customs Service today (7/11/13) seized a total of 16,480 cigarettes when they entered an apartment in Tullow, Co. Carlow.

The 'Goldengate', 'Torro', 'Denim Blue' and 'West' cigarettes have a retail value of €7,168 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €5,930.

An eastern European male in his 60s has been questioned and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Investigations are ongoing.
