Revenue uncovers oil laundering plant in Co. Meath
In a joint, intelligence-led operation between Revenue and An Garda Síochána this evening (10/12/13), officers uncovered an oil laundering plant in Rathfeigh, Co. Meath. The plant had the capacity to launder approximately 3m litres of fuel per annum with a potential annual loss to the Exchequer of €1.5m.
The plant was dismantled and a quantity of fuel, ancillary equipment and three vehicles were seized.
Two men in their twenties were arrested and investigations are ongoing.
