Revenue seizes synthetic drugs and cigarettes
Officers of Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport seized 5Kgs of the synthetic drug 4-Mec (4-Methylethcathinione) with a street value of €175,000.
The drugs, which arrived from China and were described as 'silicon and rubber products', were destined for an address in Ballymount Industrial Estate, Dublin.
In a separate operation last Friday (6/09/13) officers in Dublin Port seized 140,000 cigarettes at a business premises in North County Dublin, with an estimated retail value of €60,244 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €50,290.
The 'Ron Hill' brand cigarettes were seized as a result of profiling had arrived from Tenerife.
Investigations are on-going.
