Revenue seizes cigarettes in Cork
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service, assisted by An Garda Síochana, seized 60,000 cigarettes and 45kgs of tobacco with a retail value of €46,800 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €36,972 in Mitchelstown, Cork this morning (14/12/2013).
The "Capital" cigarettes and the "Samson" tobacco were seized when a UK registered car was stopped on the M8 by Gardaí. The vehicle was also seized.
A non-Irish national male in his forties was questioned by Revenue officers and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
