Revenue seizes herbal cannabis at Dublin Port

On Saturday evening (14/12/13), officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Port detained a UK national who attempted to import 15kgs of cannabis with an estimated street value of €300,000.

Revenue's sniffer dog 'Holly', gave a positive reaction to a vehicle that had disembarked a late evening ferry from Holyhead. The vehicle was scanned by the Customs Mobile X-Ray Scanner and found to contain a false floor beneath which officers discovered the drugs.

The man was later arrested by An Garda Síochána and investigations are continuing.
