Revenue uncover oil laundering plant in Waterford
As a result of a joint operation, officers from Revenue's Customs Service assisted by an Garda Síochána today (18/11/2013), have uncovered a sophisticated fuel laundering plant in a commercial premises in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.
The plant has the capacity to launder a total of 10 million litres per annum with a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €5m per annum.
A number of large tanks and ancillary equipment have been detained.
Investigations are on-going.
