Revenue arrest man at Dublin Airport for cigarette smuggling

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport, yesterday evening (17/12/13), seized 10,000 cigarettes, with an estimated retail value of €4,850 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €4,151.

The 'L&M' and "Marlboro Light" cigarettes were discovered in the baggage of a 28 year old Moldovan man, who had arrived on a flight from Moscow.

He was arrested and appeared before Judge Patricia McNamara in the Courts of Criminal Justice, this morning where he was remanded in custody until Tuesday 24th December where he will appear again before Cloverhill District Court.
