Revenue seizes cigarettes and tobacco

In an intelligence led operation, officers from Revenue's Customs Service, acting under warrant, yesterday (19/12/13), seized 6,880 cigarettes and 3.9 kg of tobacco in a premises in Dublin's North inner city with an estimated retail value of €4,876 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €4,182.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes and tobacco in the shadow economy.
