Revenue seizes cocaine at Dublin Port

In an intelligence-led operation, officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Port today (31/10/2013) detained a 48 year old UK national who attempted to import 2.4 kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €175,000.

Revenue's sniffer dog 'Holly', gave a positive reaction on the BMW that had disembarked an early morning ferry from the UK. The vehicle was scanned by the Customs X-Ray Scanner and officers discovered the drugs concealed behind panels.

The vehicle was also seized.

The man was later arrested by An Garda Síochana and investigations are continuing.
