Revenue seizes cigarettes at Rosslare Europort

As a result of routine profiling, officers from Revenue's Customs Service yesterday (03/11/2014) seized 50,000 cigarettes with a retail value of €25,000* at Rosslare Europort.

The 'Denim' cigarettes were discovered concealed in the floor of a Lithuanian registered car that disembarked a ferry from France. A 43 year old Lithuanian female was arrested and charged and brought before Wexford District Court.

At Wexford District Court, Judge Haughton remanded the accused in custody to appear again at Wexford District Court today (04/11/14).
