Revenue seizes cash at Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service yesterday (6/11/2014) seized €63,800 and £2,160 sterling under the proceeds of crime legislation at Dublin Airport.

The cash was concealed in the baggage of a 32 year old Polish male, who was about to depart on a flight to Krakow. Detection dog 'Barney' gave a positive reaction to his baggage during routine passenger checks.

Officers were today (7/11/2014) granted a three-month detention order by Judge Halpin in the Criminal Courts of Justice in order to carry out further investigations.
