Revenue seizes cigarettes at Dublin Airport
As a result of cargo profiling at Dublin Airport officers from Revenue’s Customs Service, last Friday (5/12/14), seized 130,000 cigarettes with a retail value of approximately €68,300*.
The 'RGD' brand cigarettes, which originated in Greece, were described on the manifest as 'school goods'.
Investigations are continuing.

* The cigarettes seized represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €50,100. This is assuming that they would have displaced the equivalent full tax paid quantity of cigarettes.
