Revenue seizes drugs at Dublin Airport
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service today (11/02/14) seized 1.8kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €126,000 at Dublin Airport when they stopped and searched a man in his fifties who had arrived on a flight from Brazil.
As a result of routine profiling, the drugs were discovered concealed in a false-bottomed suitcase belonging to the French national.
The man was arrested and taken for questioning.
This follows a seizure of 13,000 Diazepam tabs by officers from Revenue’s Customs Service in Dublin Airport, last Friday (07/02/14). The drugs, with an estimated street value of €26,000, were discovered when officers stopped and searched the luggage of two UK nationals who had arrived on a flight from Thailand.
The two men aged 27 and 37 were arrested and taken for questioning by An Garda Síochána.
