€1.5m per day in Local Property Tax being paid - last chance to avoid interest and penalties on LPT and Household Charge arrears
Since the start of this 6-week campaign, approximately 60,000 Local Property Tax (LPT) returns have been received and €1.5m is currently being paid on a daily basis. Over 1,700 debit/credit card payments were made yesterday alone, the busiest day for card payments since last November. Revenue is also processing in excess of 337,000 direct debits every month and has received approximately €3.8m in arrears of the 2012 Household Charge. Currently, the LPT compliance rate in respect of 2013 stands at 93% and 85% in respect of 2014.
Property owners now have less than 2 weeks to regularise their LPT and Household Charge affairs and avoid interest, penalties and enforcement activity. The quickest and easiest way to do this is through the LPT online system using your Property ID and PIN. If you’ve misplaced your Property ID and PIN, they can be requested online through the LPT system. For security reasons they will be posted to the address on Revenue’s records. Property owners should request them now to ensure they are received in time to meet the 31 March deadline.
If you’ve any difficulties using the online system, you can call the LPT helpline on 1890 200 255.
Act now to avoid interest, penalties and enforcement activity.
Revenue would also like to remind property owners who chose to pay their 2014 Local Property Tax (LPT) by Single Debit Authority that their account will be debited this Friday, 21 March. The 386,000 property owners who chose this payment option should ensure there are sufficient funds in place to meet the liability.
