Revenue seizes tobacco in Kerry

As part of a planned operation in Kerry today, (22/01/14), officers from Revenue's Customs Service seized over 46 kgs of 'Pall Mall' & 'Turner' roll-your-own tobacco with a retail value of €18,300 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €14,800.

As part of the operation, officers executed two search warrants at private residences in Tralee. The tobacco was discovered concealed in cargo boxes & surrounded by metal sheeting.

Two male Polish nationals in their 30s and 40s were questioned.

The investigation is on-going with a view to prosecution.
