Revenue seizes herbal cannabis at Portlaoise Mail Centre

Following routine profiling, officers from Revenue's Customs Service today (22/12/2014) seized 42kgs of herbal cannabis with a street value of €840,000 at Portlaoise Mail Centre.

The drugs were discovered when Revenue's sniffer dog, Stella, gave a positive reaction on a parcel described on the manifest as 'food and spices', that was consigned from West Africa to an address in North Dublin.

Investigations are on-going.
