Cocaine seized in Dublin in a joint operation between Revenue and An Garda Síochána
As part of an intelligence-led, joint operation between officers from Revenue's Customs Service and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau of An Garda Síochána, yesterday (20/08/15), approximately 11.2 kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €784,000 were seized following the interception of a freight vehicle as it disembarked a ferry at Dublin Port.
During the course of this joint operation one male (aged 38 years) was arrested for drug trafficking offences and is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
