Thousands of LPT returns filed as deadline approaches
Revenue reports strong engagement ahead of LPT filing deadline
On 12/11/2025, Revenue confirmed that thousands of property owners have submitted their Local Property Tax (LPT) returns ahead of today’s 17:30 deadline for the 2026–2030 valuation period. Since the filing extension was announced on 7 November, over 115,000 returns have been submitted, showing strong engagement from property owners across the State with 18,210 returns received today as at 12.00.
Revenue acknowledges that this is the first LPT revaluation since 2021 and understands that some property owners may require assistance in completing their return. As the 17.30 filing deadline approaches, Revenue’s LPT helpline continues to experience high call volumes and have handled 7,000 calls daily over the past week.
Property owners are encouraged to continue using all channels of communication with Revenue, including both the telephone helpline and myEnquiries if they have queries. Revenue also reminds property owners that the quickest and easiest way to submit their LPT Return is online via myAccount, ROS, or the LPT online portal.
Revenue is working through approximately 100,000 pieces of correspondence, including postal queries and paper returns. Property owners who have submitted a query to Revenue (via MyEnquiries, by post, or through other correspondence) about their 2026 LPT obligations will be treated as compliant if they file their return promptly once they receive a response. This pragmatic approach ensures that anyone engaging with Revenue ahead of the deadline and following up promptly is considered compliant.
Revenue encourages property owners who have not yet filed their LPT return to do so as soon as possible, and reminds them that payment of the 2026 LPT charge must be made by 9 January 2026, or via the chosen payment arrangement such as Direct Debit or Deduction at Source.
