Summary

Jonathan Slattery with an address at 68 The Fort, Dooradoyle, Co Limerick pleaded guilty to the following offences under Section 1078 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997:

  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to knowingly or wilfully deliver an incorrect return for VAT for the periods Sept/Oct 2005 and July/Aug 2007 (2 counts)
  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to wilfully claim a repayment of VAT to which neither himself nor the company was entitled to
  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to fail to keep records of all transactions relating to VAT

William Slattery with an address at 68 The Fort, Dooradoyle, Co Limerick pleaded guilty to the following offences under Section 1078 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997:

  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to knowingly or wilfully deliver an incorrect return for VAT for the periods May/June 2006 and Mar/April 2008 (2 counts)
  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to wilfully claim a repayment of VAT to which neither himself nor the company was entitled to
  • Consenting or conniving with Slattery Ventures Ltd (of which he was a director) to fail to keep records of all transactions relating to VAT

Outcome

On 18 June 2015 at Limerick Circuit Court, Judge O’Donnell sentenced both parties to 3 years imprisonment on all four counts to be served concurrently. He however suspended the sentences in full on their entering a bond of €100 to keep the peace and be of good behavior for three years.
