Summary
Dean O’Reilly with an address at 38 Castlemoyne, Balgriffin, Dublin 13 was charged with the following offences;
- 24 counts of failing to remit VAT during the years 2008-2011 being an offence under s1078(2)(i) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997
- 4 counts of failing to furnish a return of income for the years 2008-2011 being an offence under s1078(2)(g)(i) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.
Outcome
Dean O’Reilly pleaded guilty to ten sample charges of failing to remit VAT.
On 29 June 2015, Judge Martin Nolan sentenced Mr. O’Reilly to 18 months in jail.
At the Court of Criminal Appeal on 27 October 2015, Dean O’Reilly’s sentence was reduced to a 12 month sentence with four months suspended.
