Summary

Mr. Derek Grehan, trading as Able Security, with an address at 135 Sundale Park, Mountainview, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24 pleaded guilty on 19 July 2017 to the following offences under Section 1078 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997:

• Failing to remit VAT in respect of September/October 2010, November/December 2010, January/February 2011, March/April 2011, May/June 2011, January/April 2013, May/August 2013 and September/December 2013 (8 counts).
• Knowingly and wilfully delivering an incorrect VAT return in respect of September/October 2010 (1 count).

Outcome

On 21 July 2017, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Judge Nolan sentenced Mr. Grehan to fifteen months imprisonment in respect of the failure to remit VAT in respect of September/October 2010. All of the remaining counts were marked as having been taken into account.
