Pay an excise licence fee

You can complete your application and pay for your licence using Revenue Online Services (ROS).

What you need to access the service
To access the service, you will need:
- your licence reference number
- a Revenue Online Service (ROS) Debit Instruction (RDI)
- and
- tax clearance and the documents listed on your notice.
How to access the service
This service is available through ROS, by following these steps:
- 1. Click on the ‘My Services’ section from the ROS main menu.
- 2. In the ‘File a return’ section, select the return type of ‘Excise Licence’.
- 3. Select ‘Excise Licence Renew’.
- 4. Tick to confirm you are the licence holder and possess the documents listed.
- 5. Authorise the payment.
By post
You can also submit your licence application and pay by post. You will need to complete the payslip located at the bottom of your Application Notice or Renewal Notice. Payment must be made by cheque or bank draft, payable to the Collector General, using the prepaid envelope provided.
