The Revenue Solicitor’s Division comprises around 60 legal professionals and support staff who provides a comprehensive in-house legal service to Revenue across a range of practice areas, both civil and criminal.

The Division advises on all legal matters related to tax and duty collection, customs controls, and various regulatory issues. The Division manages a large portfolio of cases, conducting criminal prosecutions and managing tax and customs appeals before the Tax Appeals Commission and the Superior Courts. It handles litigation in District, Circuit, and Superior Courts and provides comprehensive legal advisory services across all areas within Revenue’s remit and statutory functions, including those related to EU membership.
