Revenue seizes €813,000 of drugs in Waterford

As part of an intelligence-led, joint operation between Revenue's Customs Service and An Garda Síochána today (17/09/12), 23kgs of synthetic psychoactive drugs with an estimated street value of €813,000 (subject to analysis) were seized in an apartment complex in Waterford city.

The seizure was a result of the controlled delivery of a parcel which arrived into Cork airport from China.

A 32 year old Irish man was arrested and is detained at Waterford Garda Station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
