Revenue seizes 16,000 cigarettes in Dublin Airport

On Saturday (10/06/17), Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized 16,000 cigarettes when, acting on intelligence, they stopped and searched a passenger who had arrived from Chisinau via Frankfurt. The cigarettes, branded ‘Camel’ and ‘Marlboro’ have a retail value of €8,800, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €7,100. The passenger, a 28 year old Romanian man, was arrested.

Today (16/06/2017) the man appeared before Judge Victor Blake in Cloverhill District Court, where he was further remanded in custody until Friday next, 23 June, when he will again be brought before the Court.
