Revenue seize tobacco products and a car in Cork City
Earlier today (13/02/2019), Revenue officers, with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Eva , seized over 11,300 cigarettes, 5kgs of tobacco and a car as part of an intelligence-led operation in Cork.
The seizures came following searches, carried out under warrant, of two houses in Cork City. The seized contraband tobacco products have a combined value in excess of €9,400, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €7,500. The brands seized include ‘Excellence’, ‘Gold Classic’, ‘Richman’ and ‘Flandria’.
Two Irish men were questioned and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
