Revenue seize cash and alcohol in Galway City
Today (28/11/2019), at Clifden District Court, Revenue officers were granted a three month cash detention order by Judge John King. This followed the seizure yesterday (27/11/2019) of almost €11,800 following a search, under warrant, of a residential property in Galway City.
During the course of the operation, Revenue officers also seized 809 litres of alcohol as no proof of duty paid could be provided. The alcohol has an estimated retail value of almost €3,500 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €1,600.
A woman in her thirties and a man in his sixties were questioned.
Investigations are ongoing.
