Revenue seize cannabis as part of joint operation in Limerick

On Wednesday (5/8/2020), as part of an intelligence led joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Custom Service and Gardaí from Limerick’s Divisional Drugs Unit, cannabis with an estimated value of almost €116,000 was seized.

During the search of a house, under warrant, in Castleconnell, Co Limerick, Revenue officers seized 1.1 Kgs of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €22,000. A follow up search of a car that was parked in the locality resulted in the seizure, by Gardaí, of additional cannabis products with an estimated value of €93,900.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and was detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) 1996.
