Revenue seize cannabis worth €620,000 in Meath
Yesterday (17/11/2020), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 31 kgs of cannabis with an estimated value of €620,000, following a search of a vehicle in Co Meath. The seizure was made as a result of a joint intelligence led operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ashbourne Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
