Revenue seize €295,000 cash at Dublin Airport
Earlier today (26/11/2020), at Dublin District Court, Revenue officers were granted a three month cash detention order by Judge Brian Smyth. This followed the seizure yesterday (25/11/2020), of almost €295,000 at Dublin Airport, when as a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers stopped a man prior to boarding a flight to Malaga, Spain.
The cash is suspected to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity and is detained by Revenue in accordance with proceeds of crime legislation.
A 52 year old man from the United Kingdom was questioned in relation to the seizure and investigations are ongoing.
