Revenue seize 87,000 cigarettes following vehicle search
Yesterday (27/01/2020), as a result of routine operations, and following the search of a vehicle in Drumcondra, Dublin, Revenue officers seized a total of 87,000 cigarettes. The ‘Marlboro’ cigarettes bore Moldovan tax stamps and have a value of over €46,500, representing a loss to the exchequer of approximately €40,500.
Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation, supply and sale of illegal tobacco products in the shadow economy.
