Revenue seize drugs worth €1.2 million at Dublin Port
Yesterday (25/02/2021), as a result of routine operations, Revenue officers seized 55kgs of herbal cannabis and 2kgs of cannabis infused ‘jelly sweets’ at Dublin Port. The illegal drugs have a combined estimated value of €1.2 million.
With the assistance of detector dog James and Revenue’s mobile X-ray scanner, the drugs were discovered concealed in suitcases that were stored in the driver’s cab of a commercial vehicle, which had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead.
An Irish man in his 50’s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and investigations are ongoing.
