Revenue seize cocaine worth €812,000 in Naas, Co. Kildare
Today (18/05/2021), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 11.6kgs of cocaine with an estimated value of €812,000 following the search of a vehicle in the Naas area of Kildare. The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Kildare Divisional Drugs Unit.
A 39 year old man was arrested by Gardaí and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Naas Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
