Revenue seize drugs worth over €49,000 in Dublin
Yesterday (12/8/2021), as a result of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 2.48 kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €49,000, following the search, under warrant, of a premises in the Darndale area of Dublin.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted between Revenue's Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Divisional Drug Units attached to Coolock and Ballymun Garda Stations.
A 20-year-old man was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Swords Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
