Revenue seize drugs worth €144,000 in Ballymun, Dublin

Today (18/8/2021), as a result of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 3.2kg of herbal cannabis, over half a kilo of heroin and 150 tablets of Benzodiazepine following a search, under warrant, of a premises in Ballymun, Dublin. The illegal drugs have a combined estimated value of over €144,000.

The illegal drugs were seized as part of a joint operation conducted by Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the Ballymun Divisional Drugs Unit.

A 24 year old man was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ballymun Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
