Revenue seize cannabis worth €158,000 in Dublin

Last Friday (11/03/2022), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 7.88 kgs of herbal cannabis in the Artane area of North Dublin. The illegal drugs have an estimated value of approximately €158,000.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Divisional Drugs Unit attached to Coolock Garda Station.

A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Coolock Garda Station.  Investigations are ongoing.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
