Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €70,000 in Kildare
Yesterday (27/02/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 3.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €70,000 following the search, under warrant, of a premises in Kildare.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Kildare Divisional Drugs Unit.
A female in her forties was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kildare Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
