Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth over €132,000 in Sligo
Wednesday (22/03/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 6.6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €132,000 in the Sligo area.
This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Sligo Divisional Drugs Unit.
A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in Co. Sligo.
Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
