Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth over €1.3 million in Dublin and Meath

Last Friday (31/03/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 67.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of approximately €1.36 million in the Dublin and Meath areas. The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Coolock and Raheny District Drugs Units and the Meath Divisional Drugs Unit.

A man in his 30s and a man in his 40s were arrested by An Garda Síochána and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in North Dublin. Investigations are ongoing.

This seizure was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
