Revenue seize 540,000 cigarettes at Dublin Port
On Friday (05/05/2023), as a result of routine operations and with the assistance of detector dog Milo, Revenue officers seized approximately 540,000 cigarettes at Dublin Port. The cigarettes have an estimated retail value of approximately €426,500, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €334,000.
The smuggled cigarettes, branded ‘Sobraine’ and ‘Dunhill’, were discovered concealed in metal boxes in a consignment which arrived from Cologne, Germany.
Investigations are ongoing.
