Revenue seize almost 4.1 million cigarettes in Dublin
Yesterday (16/11/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation and with the assistance of detector dog Milo, Revenue officers seized 4,080,000 cigarettes in County Dublin.
The illicit cigarettes, branded ‘Richmond’, have an estimated value of €3.4 million, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €2.7 million.
The consignment originated in the Netherlands and was destined for an address in Northern Ireland.
The driver of the load has been questioned and investigations are ongoing.
