Revenue seize 1 million cigarettes in North County Dublin
Yesterday (30/11/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized over 1 million cigarettes following the search of a commercial premises under warrant in North County Dublin. The seizure was made with the assistance of detector dog Milo and with the support of members of An Garda Síochána.
The illicit cigarettes were of various brands including ‘Richmond’,’ Marlboro Gold’ and ‘Mayfair’, and had an estimated value of over €894,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €704,000.
A man in his 70s was questioned and investigations are ongoing.
