Revenue seize €8 million worth of heroin

As part of ongoing joint investigations being conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue’s Customs Service, targeting transnational organised crime, diamorphine (heroin) with an estimated street value in excess of €8 million was recovered on the morning of 1 December 2023, following the interception of a light aircraft and a vehicle in South County Dublin and County Kildare.  

Two males aged in their 40s and 60s have been arrested on suspicion of organised crime activity and are currently detained at a Garda Station in County Kildare under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006. Investigations are ongoing.
