Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €1.8 million in Louth

On 12/05/2025, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 90 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.8 million in Co. Louth. This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit.

One male in his 50s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co. Louth under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
