Revenue seize tobacco worth €2.8 million at Dublin Airport
In recent days, as a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized 3,456 kg of rolling tobacco with an estimated retail value of approximately €2.8 million, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €2.1 million.
The illicit rolling tobacco, branded ‘Turner’, was discovered in an air cargo consignment, manifested as garments, that had originated from the Middle East. Investigations are ongoing.
