Revenue seize contraband worth over €156,385 in various operations

Over the week, commencing 17/11/2025, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €156,385 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands and Rosslare Europort.

The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:

  • 4.6 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €92,000
  • 10.8 g of cocaine, with an estimated value of over €755
  • Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €1,675
  • Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €2,550, and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €1,910
  • Over 654.25 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €8,930, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €4,885,
  • 31 weapons, with an estimated value of almost €2,225
  • and
  • 173 counterfeit items with an estimated value of almost €48,245.

The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Sam. The parcels originated in USA, UK, France, Spain and India, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.

The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Thirty-one weapons were also seized.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
